Emma Watson is to study at Ivy school

Emma Watson has announced which Ivy League school she'll be attending in the autumn.

The 19-year-old, who plays Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter franchise, previously said that she was attracted to American universities because of the anonymity she feels they can afford her.

The actress has now confirmed that she will be a student at Brown University in Rhode Island, People reports.

"I am [going to university in the autumn] - to Brown, which is an Ivy League establishment in the USA. I've got a place there to read literature," she said.

Her choice of school was also accidentally leaked by co-star Daniel Radcliffe in an interview with The Guardian, after speculation grew following her tour of US schools last October.

Watson recently admitted that she hoped her college roommate wouldn't be a Potter fan.

Emma Watson Says Possible for New film

Emma Watson says Possible for New film while in an interview by Daliy Mail Magazine
‘I don’t consider myself to be a celebrity. I don’t fit that mould. I worry that people have expectations of me being someone I’m not. I’m just finding myself and trying to live as normally as possible and be as normal as possible.

'I’ve never seen a “good behaviour” clause (she refers to her reported Warner contract) – I honestly think that’s a myth – but I actually wouldn’t ever need one. It’s just not necessary. I’m not tempted by parties or drugs. I don’t actually like being drunk, particularly in public. But I do understand why people get sucked into a party lifestyle. I can see how it happens so I’d never criticise someone who gets into all that. It can get pretty tough. But you have choices in life. If I want to lead as private and as normal a life as possible I just can’t go there. So I don’t.’
She grins. ‘Daniel (Radcliffe), Rupert (Grint) and me have been incredibly protected doing the Harry Potter movies. There seems to be this feeling that all of us were bursting to break out of these images we had created but that’s never been the case. We all share the same view. None of us court celebrity, none of us want to be part of the game.’

While some websites and reports have claimed that she has chosen a University, Emma Watson says again that she is still undecided, and states of her desire to further her education while acting. "Jodie Foster did it, Natalie Portman did it,’ she says. ‘I think it’s entirely possible to juggle university with filming...‘I actually think going to university will make me a better actress. The experience of living like that, working to deadlines, living with other students. It’s all the things I want."

Finally, Emma Watson speaks again to a role in the Napoleon and Betsy film that she has been rumored to be taking on for some time now. ‘It’s a strong relationship but it’s not sexual,’ she says. ‘It’s very complex. A touching of souls. She was a very young girl and he was this older, incredible man. I read the script two years ago and just knew this was the perfect film for me.’

Emma Watson : It's hard to find a right man

Emma Watson is still waiting for her "knight in shiny armor".

The 18-year-old actress - who shot to fame playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film franchise - has set her sights on finding a boyfriend in 2009.

But Watson says finding the right guy is proving difficult - even though she's not particularly fussy.

She says, "A good boyfriend is hard to find. There aren't a lot of gentlemen out there and unfortunately I'm still waiting for my knight in shiny armor.

"I'm sure he will come along at some point. Ideally he has to be intelligent, to be interesting, and I have to be able to hold a conversation with him.

"I don't want someone who bores me out of my mind. Actually, he will just have to make me laugh, really."

Q & A with Emma Watson by DailyRecord.co.uk

Source: DailyRecord.co.uk

Q: WHAT attracted you to the role of Princess Pea?

A: I loved the messages in the script. I thought there was something charming about Despereaux. As for Pea, I felt so sorry for her. She's so isolated and alone.

Q: WAS it hard to connect with the character, especially since this was your first voiceover work?

A: I felt nervous and it was strange just focusing on my voice, but I really enjoyed it. It was such a team effort.

Q: Is it true that you speak French?

A: Yes, but not as well as I used to. I was born in Paris, but left when I was five. Both my parents speak fluently. I need to go back there and brush up.

Q: When you got into acting with Harry Potter, did you believe things would turn out the way they have?

A: No. Actually, I had a weird reality-check moment earlier today. I was sitting at a table with Matthew Broderick on my left, and Sigourney Weaver and Dustin Hoffman to my right. It was surreal. I've no idea how I came to be part of an unbelievable cast.

Q: What are the things you don't like about acting?

A: The red carpet can be a pretty intimidating place, but it's fun to dress up and get ready.

Q: Once Harry Potter ends, are there any actors you would like to work with or any type of genre you want to do?

A: I'd love to do a period drama, a musical. I'd love to do a small independent film. I want to do everything.

Q: What kind of things do you do to relax?

A: I paint, I draw. I like being creative and I like photographs. I wander around an art gallery or I'll make someone a birthday card. I'll watch a film with a friend or cook some dinner.

Emma Watson has "no need for money in her life"

The 'Harry Potter' actress - estimated to be worth £13 million - will never agree to star in a  film purely for financial gain.LONDON - NOVEMBER 29 Emma Watson arriving at the premiere of 'Ano Una' at the Curzon Renoir on November 29, 2008 in London, England. (Photo by Fred DuvalFilmMagic)

Emma, 18, said: "The wealth side of it hasn't hit me yet because I have no need for money in my life. My life will not be motivated by money.

"I will never do a film because they're going to pay me a certain amount of money. It's liberating. It means I can hopefully make great choices."

The British actress also insists she has not adopted a lavish lifestyle despite starring in six 'Harry Potter' films, and still uses public transport.

She added to USA Today newspaper: "I have a more normal life than people expect. When I take public transport, people are like, 'That girl looks like the girl from 'Harry Potter', but it can't be her on the train.'

"I get stopped by people, but that's fine. I'd never want to be so famous that I couldn't live a normal life to a certain extent. I can't imagine anything lonelier, just not being able to be part of the real world and being trapped and locked in hotel rooms and cars."

Emma lends her voice to the character Princess Pea in new animated film 'The Tale of Despereaux' which opens in European cinemas from Friday (19.12.08).

Emma watson on Deathly Hallows Romance

MTV spoke with Emma Watson (Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films) and asked her what part she is looking forward to filming from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows the most and about the romance between Hermione and Ron (and has she talked to Rupert Grint about their kiss?).
On the relationship between Hermione and Ron and their kids, she said she was thrilled. “I was thrilled really. Ron was the right person for her to be with. I think it was amazing that they had kids. It was perfect.”
Has she talked to Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) about their kiss? “God no! We haven’t discussed it. I think we’ll have to cross that bridge when we come to it.”
She was also asked what part she is most looking forward to filming. “The scene that really touched me is Ron’s betrayal of Hermione, him leaving her. There’s that wonderful scene where he comes back and Hermione just launches herself at him and starts hitting him and is uncontrollably angry at him and disappointed in him for abandoning her. I’m looking forward to that because it felt very real when I read it.”

Emma Watson would appears in Nutidy

The 18-year-old, who has recently replaced Keira Knightley as the face of Chanel perfume Coco Mademoiselle, said she did not understand the worldwide interest in her life.

"The truth is, I'm not very cool" she said.

Watson, who plays Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series, said she would be picky about her next film but said she would love to work with arty Italian film director Bernardo Bertolucci, who made Besieged, starring Thandie Newton.

Asked if she would strip for a role, she replied: "Yes. For Bernardo Bertolucci. It . . . depends. I'm not getting my kit off any time soon, but it is part of my job."

However, Watson said she was not in any rush to get in front of the camera again, and could even turn her back on Hollywood to study English after getting three A-grades in her A-levels.

"I have enough to hold me together without fame," she told The Sunday Times Style magazine.

"I have a really supportive family and a full life away from Harry Potter. It's unlikely that I'll be part of anything this big ever again, so I need to deal with that.

"I'm not going to take a job just because, s***, I'm not doing anything else.

"I'm going to have a battle on my hands, because after Harry Potter has finished, I don't know. I definitely want to go to university.

"I'm at a strange age. I'm not a woman yet, but I'm not a girl any more. [Film companies] say, 'Oh, in a couple of years you'll be perfect for this.' I'll be like, yeah, but I want to be studying English then, so it's going to be quite tough to choose between the two."

The actress said she felt under pressure to date Potter co-stars Daniel Radcliffe or Rupert Grint, saying: "The public are desperate for it. It would literally be like [a royal marriage]. Luckily, luckily . . . It would be such a nightmare."

But the teenager said she already has a boyfriend and when asked if she was in love, she blushed and said: "I don't know."

Emma Watson Featured in Sunday Times, Attends Premiere of Tale of Despereaux

As her new film is set to open this week, actress Emma Watson is making news tonight. First the Hermione Granger attended the premiere of her new film, the animated movie The Tale of Despereaux, tonight in Los Angeles, California. You can see new photos of Emma at this event here via WireImage and here via Getty.

Also, Emma has been the feature of several interview pieces of late as part of the release of Despereaux. Yesterday MTV posted a new piece online where Emma confirmed she would be attending college or university later this fall, noting again she had applied to schools both here in the States and to those in the UK. She also addressed some rumors that we've heard about possible future film roles. Emma Watson said: I'm attached to a film called "Napoleon and Betsy," which will hopefully get shot in 2010. I've got the colossal final book ["Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"] to finish off, and I'm going to university in September. I'm looking at scripts and auditioning. I'm very excited to do roles beyond "Potter." It's a very exciting time for me.

Today, the Sunday Times ran this article, where Emma speaks about fame, fortune, and what it is like for her when she meets new people and fans. “The parties are fun if you’re with friends,” she says, although meeting her public is often awkward. “I think it’s hard for people to know how to act when they meet me. Some people try incredibly hard to avoid anything to do with Harry Potter, fame or acting or whatever, and I really do appreciate it, but it can be quite awkward too. It’s hard meeting new people, for them to know quite what to do.”
